Why Try A Cold Plunge on the central coast?
Cold water immersion is a popular addition to recovery and wellness routines, offering an invigorating way to refresh both body and mind.
The cold can help you feel more alert and energised, may support post-exercise recovery and muscle soreness, and provides a powerful way to cool down after an infrared sauna. Alternating between heat and cold also creates an intense contrast experience that many people find both refreshing and mentally invigorating.
Whether used on its own or as part of a contrast therapy session, the cold plunge is a simple way to challenge yourself, reset and recharge.

Common Questions
Is the cold plunge session completely private?
Yes. Every booking provides exclusive use of The Reset Room for you and, if you choose, one other guest. There are no shared facilities, crowds or waiting for other customers during your session.
How cold is the cold plunge?
Our cold plunge is maintained at approximately 7-8°C, providing a refreshing and invigorating cold-water experience. If you're new to cold plunging, start with a short immersion and build up gradually.
How long should I stay in the cold plunge?
You don't need to stay in for long to experience the cold. Beginners can start with 30 seconds to 2 minutes, while more experienced users may choose longer immersions depending on their comfort and experience. Always listen to your body and exit if you feel unwell.
I’ve never tried a cold plunge before — is it suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Many of our guests are trying cold plunging for the first time. There’s no expectation to stay in for a certain amount of time — you can start with a short immersion and gradually build up as you become more comfortable with the cold.
Our wall-mounted touchscreen provides simple guidance and suggested routines throughout your session, so you can follow along or take things at your own pace.
The goal isn’t to see how long you can last — it’s to find an experience that feels right for you.
How many guests can attend?
A maximum of two guests per booking. We prioritise a serene and intimate atmosphere for your recovery.
Do I need to shower before using the cold plunge?
Yes. All guests must shower before entering the cold plunge. This is required to help keep the water clean and hygienic for everyone.
We recommend finishing your shower with cool or cold water before entering the plunge. This can help you get accustomed to the temperature and make that first cold plunge feel a little more manageable, particularly if you’re a beginner.
Please shower before every entry into the cold plunge.
How should I enter the cold plunge?
Enter the cold plunge slowly and under control, maintaining three points of contact as you step in and lower yourself into the water. Never jump or dive in.
As you enter, focus on slow, controlled breathing. The initial cold can cause you to gasp or breathe rapidly, particularly during your first few plunges. Don't hold your breath — take your time, stay calm and allow your breathing to settle before lowering yourself further into the water.
If you're new to cold plunging, there's no need to rush. Ease in, control your breathing and listen to your body.
What should I bring?
Please bring at least two towels per person — one to wipe away sweat during your session and another to dry yourself after showering.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that are easy to remove, and bring swimwear or suitable clothing for using the sauna and cold plunge.
We also recommend bringing a drink bottle to stay hydrated. Filtered drinking water is available from the basin tap for refills.
How is the cold plunge kept clean?
We take the cleanliness of our cold plunge seriously. The water is filtered and sanitised as part of our regular maintenance routine, with the plunge cleaned and the water completely replaced on a regular schedule.
To help us maintain clean, hygienic water between changes, all guests are required to shower before entering the cold plunge — including before re-entering after using the sauna.
Are there bathroom facilities onsite?
Yes. The Reset Room has a private toilet and hand basin, as well as a private outdoor shower for rinsing off before, during or after your session. Filtered drinking water is also available from the basin tap.
Cold Plunge Safety
Cold-water immersion can place additional stress on the body, particularly on the cardiovascular system. If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, circulation issues, are pregnant, have a medical condition that may be affected by cold exposure, or are unsure whether cold-water immersion is suitable for you, please speak with your doctor before use.
Enter the plunge slowly and never force yourself to remain in the water longer than feels comfortable. If you experience dizziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, numbness, confusion, or feel unwell at any time, exit the plunge immediately and warm up gradually.
Avoid using the cold plunge if you are under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs, and always follow the on-screen instructions provided during your session.
Location
The Reset Room is located in Bateau Bay on the Central Coast, close to Long Jetty, The Entrance, Shelly Beach, Killarney Vale and Berkeley Vale.
